“Have to” vs. “Get to”

The language we use makes an imprint in our subconscious mind. It’s important to mind our words, because we’re constantly, by the words we say, influencing people around us and knowingly or unknowingly influencing ourselves and our thought patterns.

We are thinking 60,000 thoughts a day and you say, “I have to go pick up my kids,” how many thoughts with negative meanings may come with that day after day after day. When you change that to a positive, “I get to pick up my kids,” your brain will start to create those shortcuts in your mind. Our brains have that ability to change.

Then, when you’re experiencing picking up your children, you’re going to be much more likely to find the positives – find the parents you haven’t seen in a while and say hi, see how your kids react when you drive up and how special that can be.
